Habitat & Location:

Saolas: live in forest about 200-600 m above sea level. found in Truong Son Range.

Sea turtles: live in warm water, lay eggs on the beach. found along coastal provines, Con Dao NP and Nui Chua NP.

Californian condors: live in the mountains of North America.

Physical features:

Saolas: antelope family. 1.3 - 1.5 m in length; 90cm in height. 100 kilos.

Sea turtles: reptile; 5 species in VN: green turtle; leatherback, loggerhead, hawksbill and olive ridley. different sizes, shapes, colours (1-3m long; 50-500 kilos)

Californian condors: bird. 1-1,4 metres long (body). 8-14 kilos.

Diet:

Saolas: eat plants, seeds, fruits.

Sea turtles: eat sponge, shellfish, or jellyfish.

Californian condors: eat meat of dead animals.

Population: 

Saolas: less than 100 (in Vu Quang NP in Ha Tinh Province). about 50-60 in Saola Nature Reserve (Quang Nam Province)

Sea turtles: unspecified number in the wild. declining.

Californian condors: estimated 435 (in 2013). slightly increasing.

Conservation status:

Saolas: CR. threat from humans. protected in national parks and nature reserves. laws to ban poaching and trading.

Sea turtles: En or CR. threats from humans and polluted habitats. protected in national parks. laws to ban poaching and trading.

Californian condors: CR. taken into captivity for protection. the San Diego Zoo helps condors' reproduction.

Môi trường sống và Thói quen:

Saolas: sống trong rừng cách mực nước biển khoảng 200-600 m , được tìm thấy trong dãy Trường Sơn.

Rùa biển: sống trong nước ấm, đẻ trứng trên bãi biển, tìm thấy dọc theo các tỉnh ven biển, Vườn Quốc gia Côn Đảo và VQG Núi Chúa.

Condors California: sống ở vùng núi của Bắc Mỹ.

Đặc điểm thể chất:

Saolas: thuộc dòng linh dương, 1,3 - 1,5 m chiều dài; Chiều cao 90cm, 100 kilô.

Rùa biển: loài bò sát; 5 loài ở VN: rùa xanh; râu da, rùa biển, hawksbill và olive ridley, kích cỡ khác nhau, hình dạng, màu sắc (1-3 m dài, 50-500 kg)

Condors California: chim. Dài 1-1,4 mét (thân). 8-14 kg.

Chế độ ăn:

Saolas: ăn thực vật, hạt, trái cây.

Rùa biển: ăn bọt biển, sò ốc, hoặc sứa.

Condors California: ăn thịt của động vật đã chết.

Số lượng loài:

Saolas: dưới 100 (ở VQG Vu Quang thuộc tỉnh Hà Tĩnh). khoảng 50-60 trong Khu bảo tồn thiên nhiên Saola (tỉnh Quảng Nam)

Rùa biển: số lượng không xác định trong tự nhiên. giảm.

Condors  California: ước tính 435 (vào năm 2013). tăng nhẹ.

Tình trạng bảo tồn:

Saolas: CR. mối đe dọa từ con người. được bảo vệ trong vườn quốc gia và khu bảo tồn thiên nhiên. luật cấm buôn bán và săn bắt.

Rùa biển: En hoặc CR. mối đe dọa từ con người và môi trường sống bị ô nhiễm. được bảo vệ trong vườn quốc gia. luật cấm buôn bán và săn bắt.

Condors  California: CR. bị bắt giữ để bảo vệ. Sở thú San Diego giúp sinh sản của các loài thủy sinh.
