2. Phân bón lá: là các loại phân bón được tưới hoặc phun trực tiếp vào lá hoặc thân để cung cấp chất dinh dưỡng cho cây trồng thông qua thân lá;

3. Phân vô cơ (phân khoáng, phân hóa học): là loại phân có chứa các chất dinh dưỡng vô cơ cần thiết cho sự sinh trưởng và phát triển của cây trồng;

4. Phân đơn (phân khoáng đơn): là loại phân vô cơ chỉ chứa một yếu tố dinh dưỡng;

5. Phân đa yếu tố: là loại phân vô cơ có chứa từ hai yếu tố dinh dưỡng trở lên;

6. Phân phức hợp: là loại phân đa yếu tố được sản xuất trên cơ sở hóa hợp các nguyên liệu;

7. Phân trộn: là loại phân đa yếu tố được sản xuất bằng cách trộn cơ giới nhiều loại phân đơn;

9. Phân hữu cơ sinh học: là loại phân được sản xuất ra từ nguyên liệu hữu cơ có sự tham gia của vi sinh vật sống có ích hoặc các tác nhân sinh học khác;

10. Phân hữu cơ khoáng: là loại phân được sản xuất ra từ nguyên liệu hữu cơ được trộn thêm một hay nhiều yếu tố dinh dưỡng khoáng;

11. Phân hữu cơ truyền thống: là các loại phân chuồng, phân bắc, nước giải, rơm rạ, phân xanh, phụ phẩm của cây trồng;

12. Hàm lượng các chất dinh dưỡng: là lượng các chất dinh dưỡng chính có trong phân bón được biểu thị bằng tỷ lệ phần trăm;

13. Hàm lượng độc tố cho phép: là hàm lượng các kim loại nặng, các sinh vật có hại, Biure và axit tự do tối đa cho phép trong phân bón;

14. Phân bón có bổ sung chất điều hòa sinh trưởng: là loại phân bón vô cơ hoặc hữu cơ được bổ sung một lượng nhỏ các vitamin, các enzim, các axit hữu cơ hoặc các chất hóa học có tác dụng kích thích hoặc kìm hãm quá trình sinh trưởng và phát triển của cây trồng;
